Brain Island (2019-ongoing)

The Brain Island project uses essay films, experimental films, publications and performances in an attempt to understand and explain the relationship between people (groups) and society from a variety of philosophical perspectives. Based on idea of heterotopia, a virtual third space is created to explore/insinuate the reality of the social condition. It also covers sociology (ideology, political propaganda), semiotics (symbolism). Religious (Buddhism - divine knowledge), philosophical (heterotopia, utopia, dystopia) perspectives and theories.

Brain Island: Neo-Existentialism (2019)

Brain Island: Neo-Existentialism is a self-portrait essay film that engages with the Western philosophical genre of Existentialism as a key to identity creation: a new definition of Existentialism for hyper-modern times. The combination of images, sounds and text convey subjective thoughts in a first-person voice reminiscent of a manifesto or propaganda video filmed images are interspersed with glitches and 3D computer graphics. These pseudo-documentary fragments, and the symbolism employed in post-synthesized videos, combine aspects of performance art, religious and political speech, and social topics in the context of global art in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Brain Island: Hyperreal City (2019)

Brain Island is a society composed of gods, virtual people and people, emphasizing the stability and happiness of the present and the future. The shape of the earth's surface is like the brain and the heart. Each region is constantly changing within a limited set, and the dimensions are different. There is a civic class in Brain Island, emphasizing the independent status of each citizen, supporting the development of culture, knowledge and technology, pursuing the breadth of the world, and every citizen is spiritually rich. Through this space, people can compare and contrast with reality. It made up for Utopia's emptiness and weakened the negative emotions of dystopia.

Brain Island: Hyperreal City II (Adventure Game) (2020)

You can create an interactive story by controlling the characters. The artistic slogan of science and technology, the poetic narrative, the multiple identities and the deconstruction of human nature are integrated into the drama conflict and the new world rules.
